Systems are documented here while they are being built, not after they work. Each entry states what a system does, what evidence exists for it, and what remains unbuilt.

Nothing is published as finished until it can be verified against the archive. Where a value is not yet verified, this section prints a dash rather than an estimate.

§ 02 — Status

Every system, its state, and the evidence for it.

Three states, in order of how much can be claimed for them. A system moves up this table only when evidence is attached, and down it the moment evidence goes stale.

Deferred on purpose. The reason is stated in the row; a parked system is not a failed one.

State is set by glyph, weight and indent. It is never encoded in colour alone.

§ 03 — Method

Falsifiability is the operating rule.

Cycle counts leave the Lab only with the price or date that would prove them wrong. Systems leave the Specced row only when evidence is attached. The same discipline applies to both research and infrastructure.

Document while unfinished Most useful work is still incomplete. Showing the seams is more valuable than waiting for polish that never arrives.

Attach the kill level If a count cannot name the level or date that would invalidate it, it is not ready to leave the Lab.

Evidence or dash Unverified values print as a dash. Estimates are not published as facts.

Append-only archive Past states remain visible. A wrong call stays a wrong call; a parked system stays parked until reason changes.

§ 04 — Now

August 2026

Returning King Nuggets letters to weekly cadence. The method and the archive structure are in place; the publishing rhythm is the remaining variable. Lab status board remains the source of truth for what is actually running versus what is only specified.
